CHILD SEAT LAW IMPLEMENT IN MALAYSIA ON 1 JANUARY 2020

European Union and UNECE  has mandated the use of child-restraint systems in vehicles effective May 5, 2006. Children less than 135 centimetres (53 in) tall in vehicles must be restrained by an approved child restraint system suitable for the child's size.[34] In practice, child restraint systems must be able to be fitted to the front, or other rows of seats.

A guidebook prepared by the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) stated that all children below 135cm have to use a child restraint system. ... Subsequently, the children will need a toddler booster seat with five-point harness and then a regular booster seat that makes use of the vehicle's seat-belt system.
